10th & 11th Day: Around Rabat & Fez Streetfood

Updated: Feb 4

We spent the last day near Rabat again to look for Buthus maroccanus - The Black Buthus. I picked a point and we approached it purposefully.

And we were successful. We found about 12 animals. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the animals in the habitat because some files were lost from the trip.

There are many construction sites in and around Rabat. I think that the habitats of the species were partially destroyed.

But we also photographed a few other animals.

After a few hours we drove back and had the car washed because it was covered with sand and dust all over.

Now that we were hungry we decided to go downtown Fez and experienced what we didn't expect. It seemed to be a festival there because there was loud music everywhere, the locals were dancing and in a very good mood. We befriended a stand and ate several grilled snacks there. We were well received and we talked for a couple of hours. It was a very nice atmosphere.

We were asked if we were gay...we laughed and said no, we're just looking for scorpions and examining the culture.

11th Day: Backflight

It was really really eventful and great days in Morocco. A road trip is worthwhile every year. And let's see when the next time will be.
