7th & 8th Day: Archeology, real Meze and return flight

Updated: Feb 5

The archaeological park of Kato Pafos. An impressive site and excavations were still taking place at the time. The students told us that they had found more ruins and will probably be there a little longer.

Became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1980.

Pafos was once the capital and the remains date from the time of Roman rule. You can see the houses of Dionysus, Theseus, Aion and Orpheus.

There is a lot to see...

There are many entrances and caves to go into.

Went a lot today, discovered a lot...we brought the car back and looked for a restaurant near us to finally eat Meze.

Because we were hungry...

Restaurant Tavern Pentaras

Meze, a typical cypriot meal. Meze is a variety of small portions of typical cypriot dishes. A little bit of an insight into the diversity...similar to the tapas in Spain. Meze - So this time really!

Meze

We were really blown away, we ate comfortably and new bowls kept coming...we couldn't eat empty that fast. They brought and brought and I don't remember what all that was, but it was very, very tasty and the tavern was great.

Our last day, tomorrow around noon we go back. We went for a short swim and bought souvenirs.

It was a nice week and Cyprus really surprised us. Unfortunately I didn't find any scorpions but there were many other things. We would come back just because of Adoni's waterfall.
