13th Day: Coral Island & the last Days

Updated: Feb 4

Early in the morning we took the first ferry back to Phuket. The weather was great and so was the atmosphere...on the way.

Ferry

We drove briefly to the hotel and made our way straight to Chalong Bay, the pier from which we always started to go to Coral Island. Unfortunately, the drivers now wanted double the money and we drove to Rawai Beach, which was 10 minutes away, and only paid half. We had a very friendly driver.

Coral Island

Behind the beach was a small circular path and an old climbing park that was not intact. There were enough insects.

Millipede

Unfortunately, we could only stay a few hours because a thunderstorm was brewing.

It started to rain heavily and oh my god, it can get pretty uncomfortable in such a small boat in such weather.

14th Day: Driving around...just for fun

Around noon the weather looked good, no rain, just a few clouds. We drove to Cape Promthep but on the way it started to rain heavily. We reached Cape Promthep and proceeded straight to Rawai Beach for shelter.

It was difficult to drive because the rain hit the body hard and blocked the view.

But its still beautiful!

Rawaii Beach

We couldn't stay there long, it was a garage and the hotel manager sent us away. We continued to a small supermarket on the Wiset Road and bought bananas. Such little cute yellow ones.

Super Cheap

We were completely wet. The water ran out of the shoes.

Well, we had to go home and it wasn't far. At the hotel we took a hot shower and I drove up into the jungle again to look for some scorpions.

I was in the deepest jungle, I was alone and only heard the animals...sometimes they got louder than when they were warning each other and at times you didn't feel welcome. A weird feeling. I also found a plantation...

In the evening in Phuket Town.

And here is our 2000km miracle scooter at our Hotel...with only one flat tire.

Inter House

There was only one situation in which we had to brake hard and came to a stop just in front of a truck because it took our right of way.

Otherwise, driving throughout Thailand was pretty good. The roundabout takes some getting used to, but it works. The scooters have the power anyway.

And I found yet another culprit making our night's sleep difficult.

15th Day: The flight back

Thailand was just great and very different from our Asia trip to Sri Lanka - not better, just different.

But Sri Lanka remains our pearl.

Thailand is very cultural and religious, everything is very well maintained, the people are friendly, committed to everything, helpful everywhere and at any time, the food is varied...the flora and fauna is fantastically beautiful...we saw a lot and very much done a lot...more will follow in a large video.
